Managing Director and Optometrist
Suresh Munyal is the founder of Eyesite Eyecare Centres which first opened in February 1987. He graduated as an Optometrist from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1982 and subsequently completed his postgraduate degrees from Bradford University and Aston University focussing on eye diseases, contact lenses, children’s eye health and ocular therapeutics. In 2017 he passed the independent prescribers’ exams held by the British College of Optometrists. Since 1982, Suresh has worked in the hospital eye service specialising in contact lenses and working in eye casualty. Suresh is a people person, so naturally his greatest enjoyment is seeing patients. He is committed to ensuring that all patients receive the highest quality care possible and are satisfied with our wide range of fashionable and products we have on offer. In his previous role as the Local Eye Health Network Chairman of this area he was instrumental in implementing the NHS Eyecare Service in Coventry and Rugby. He is now a trustee for the Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind.
Dr Beasley started his career at Eyesite Eyecare Centres in 1989 as an optical technician before training as a Dispensing Optician and then qualifying as an Optometrist in 1997. In 2013, Dr Beasley became the first person in the UK to graduate with a doctorate in optometry from Aston University and received a research excellence award from the College of Optometrists in the same year for his published work on susceptibility to pattern glare following stroke. He maintains his links with Aston University as a Visiting Lecturer and is continuing his research interests. In addition to his optometric role at the practice he is the Clinical Editor for Optometry Today and Head of Education for the Association of Optometrists.
Rachel qualified as an Optometrist at Aston University in 1992. She has been a senior optometrist at Eyesite Eyecare Centres since 1996. Rachel is nearing completion of her study in eye diseases and independent prescribing. She is registered as a performer in the new NHS Eyecare Service where she regularly diagnoses and treats eye conditions which otherwise may have been presented to eye casualty. Rachel enjoys working at Eyesite Eyecare Centres because she has the freedom to give the best possible services to her patients.
Dilesh qualified as an Optometrist at Aston University. He has also completed the Alcon Scholarship Programme, which recognises professional development for qualified optometrists. Dedicated to the promotion of optometry in the region, he is a current member and soon to be secretary of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Optical Committee. Dilesh’s clinical interests include, myopia control, orthokeratology, anterior eye disease and optometry in the community.
Since qualifying as an optometrist at Aston University, Bejal has built up a vast amount of patient experience. From examining infants to dementia patients, Bejal is committed to providing an excellent eye care service. Bejal joined the team in Eyesite in 2014 and has continued to participate in continuing education and training (CET) events under the General Optical Council (GOC.) Bejal has a keen interest in ocular disease such as macular degeneration and anterior eye conditions. Bejal enjoys fitting contact lenses and having worn lenses for nearly a decade herself, she remembers the excitement of clear vision and would like to share this clarity with her patients. Be it your first eye examination or regular check up, Bejal will ensure you have a outstanding patient journey.
Gurjeet qualified from Aston University in 2014. She is passionate about medical retina and anterior eye and is currently undertaking further education to attain a Medical Retina Certificate. Since joining us as optometrist in 2016, she has been fully invested in patient care and she values the ethos of Eyesite – that the patient is always the priority. Gurjeet’s main objective is to provide you with a good personal ocular healthcare service.
Kiran is an optometrist that has graduated from the university of Bradford in 2017. She is keen to further her knowledge by completing the independent prescribing and further research into the effectiveness of colorimetry. She has a natural interest in all ocular diseases and conditions. She is aware of how much optometry is changing and how important it is to always stay up to date with new advancements and technology. Her passion for offering high quality personalised eye care will ensure you have an outstanding patient journey.
Kirsty qualified as an dispensing optician in 2001. Currently based at our Jubilee Crescent Branch, she has been working at Eyesite Eyecare Centres for 6 years. Within that time, Kirsty has utilised her extensive knowledge and experience to cater to patients needs; including providing support to those with low vision and her passion for paediatric eye care. Kirsty enjoys her role at Eyesite because of the variety – not one day is the same and she loves the feeling of finding a solution to improve a patient’s sight. Above all, Kirsty wants to ensure that all patients are well informed, feel comfortable and happy that they go away with something that looks beautiful and works beautifully!
Sharon started her career in Optics in the early 1990’s qualifying as a Dispensing Optician in 1996. She has worked at Eyesite Eyecare Centres since 2008, has been manager of the Walsgrave Road practice since 2009 and is involved in the company’s training and development. Sharon’s experience and knowledge, together with the range of products available at Eyesite allows her to recommend products best suited to the needs of each individual patient. She most enjoys the customer service aspect of her role at this community based practice and looks forward to welcoming you whether you’ve been a customer for many years or if it will be your first visit.
Margaret is the branch manager of the Bell Green practice, and has been with Eyesite Eyecare Centres for 13 years. In this role, she ensures the smooth running of the practice and dispensing of our Eyecare products. Margaret loves the variety the role brings, and particularly enjoys interacting with patients whether new or established. She is passionate about making sure that every patient goes home with something bespoke to their individual requirements.
